Parent Resources for Deep Breathing and Relaxation

Learning to self-regulate is a difficult task kids must address when dealing with big emotions. Also, as parents, we often have our own emotional reactions to our children's tantrums and struggle to remain calm and help our children regain equilibrium. A great way to help both yourself and your child is to incorporate deep breathing when you, your child, or both of you are struggling to regain a sense of calm and handle a situation in healthy ways. If we can demonstrate healthy reactions to anxiety, our children are more likely to learn those same techniques to regulate themselves.
